The delicate potted plants are all in the house, except for the huge agave, which is now 63 years old, the same age as me, and 3 meters high and just as wide, and which 3 men are now struggling to carry, and which also no longer fits through any door, so we got a heatable plant tent. I have already raked up the leaves 3 times, but there is still enough on the fruit trees. By the way, the little walnut tree has borne 2 nuts. We were thrilled! So small and already fruit!
Many people find autumn sad, I like it. I like it when the sun gets lower every day and it gets darker earlier with each passing day. I find it cozy. When it’s cold and stormy outside, you can really enjoy the warmth and coziness indoors.
The heat of the summer gets me pumped up, makes me active and full of energy, autumn and its darkness wraps me in a blanket of comfort and relaxation. Everything has slowed down. I feel like a farmer’s wife. The harvest is in, the work is done, now you can settle down and loll around like a contented cat on the warm stove bench.
I would be delighted if I could get some lovely tenants for the two monthly rooms that will become available in November. We are no longer a commercial business, but a private room rental company and somehow like a big family.
I wonder when it will snow for the first time this year? Oh yes, I still have to get some grit for the paths when it gets slippery. And check that the gutter heating is working and ventilate the radiators in the rooms and apartments and… I’ll never become a real oven cat after all.
